Dinuka was born in Ceylon in 1987 and immigrated to Australia in 1991 with his parents. He completed VCE at Melbourne High School, graduating in 2005 with an ENTER score of 98.00. He commenced a double degree in Commerce and Aerospace Engineering at Monash University but discontinued his studies following an episode of psychosis during a Buddhist pilgrimage in India over summer break. In 2015, he was formally diagnosed with Depression and Schizoaffective Disorder. Since then, Dinuka has turned to Buddhist philosophy—particularly meditative practice—as a path of inquiry, healing, and transformation. His work engages with the Dhamma not only as an intellectual tradition but as a psychological and existential framework for resolving trauma and dismantling internal barriers.
